A Four-Institution Higher Education Collaborative
Strengthening Flint & Genesee County Through Collaboration
Bringing together Kettering University, and Michigan State University, Mott Community College, and the University of Michigan-Flint to amplify institutional strength in service to our community.
Advancing Collaboration Across Higher Education
The Flint QuadPod is the connective tissue linking four distinct higher education institutions in Flint and Genesee County — a community college, a regional university, a STEM and business-focused university, and a medical school. Through shared purpose and practical coordination, we invest in faculty development, create opportunities for cross-institutional learning, and bring educators, students, and community partners together to strengthen the region we all call home.
Why the Flint QuadPod Exists
Higher education is most powerful when it is aligned with the community it serves. The Flint QuadPod exists because the region's future depends on institutions that are coordinated, accountable, and working toward the same goals.
Together we:
- Support faculty in innovative and community-centered teaching
- Pursue research that is co-created with and beneficial to the community
- Advance equitable access to education and opportunity across Genesee County
- Connect students to careers and keep talent rooted in the region
