A collaborative rooted in community, built on institutional strength
Who We Are
About the Flint QuadPod
The Flint QuadPod is a four-institution higher education collaborative based in Flint and Genesee County, Michigan. We bring together Kettering University, Michigan State University - College of Human Medicine, Mott Community College, and University of Michigan-Flint.
Our collaborative strengthens the region through three equal pillars: Teaching and Learning, Research, and Community Engagement. We communicate our mission to institutional partners, funders, and community members alike.
Regional Context
Flint and Genesee County are home to a robust community-academic ecosystem, anchored by four higher education institutions and three major hospitals and health systems. This network of organizations provides opportunities to connect education, research, workforce development, and community priorities in ways that can strengthen the region.
For a region of this size, that combination is rare. It means that the talent, research, and expertise that many communities work decades to attract are already here, already invested in this place, and already committed to its people.
Why This Collaborative Exists
The Flint QuadPod exists to connect and amplify institutional strength in service of the community. Each partner institution brings distinct contributions, and together we create a continuum of education and engagement that no single institution could offer on its own. Our collaborative model ensures that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
